No tow, no storage, no second trip, no repair bill. We keep roadside technicians on the team specifically so a jump start does not turn into a tow truck call it never needed to be.
That sounds obvious until you have been quoted for a tow by a company that only owns tow trucks. If the battery is the whole problem, the honest answer is a jump start, and the honest answer is the cheaper one.
When a jump start actually fixes it
If you left the lights on, left a door ajar, left something plugged in, or the car sat for a fortnight, the battery is flat rather than dead and a jump will get you moving. Drive it for at least twenty minutes afterwards so the alternator can put some charge back, and get the battery tested soon, because a battery that has been run completely flat rarely comes back to full health.
When it is something worse
If the engine turns over slowly, dies again within minutes of the cables coming off, or the car was fine yesterday and is stone dead today, the battery may be at the end of its life or the alternator may not be charging at all. A jump start will still get you off the shoulder, and that is worth doing, but we will tell you honestly on scene that it is likely to happen again rather than let you discover it in a car park tomorrow night.

Heat, not cold, kills batteries here
Most people assume batteries die in winter. In this part of Texas they die in August. Heat cooks the electrolyte and quietly shortens the life of the battery, and then the first cool morning exposes what the summer did. That is why our jump start calls spike in late summer rather than in January.
If your battery is over three years old and you have already needed one jump, get it tested. The second call is rarely far behind the first.
